UK Watch is run by NoFooly Ltd, in Folkestone, Kent, United Kingdom, which is responsible for your data. This page says what we keep about you, why, and how to have it deleted. If anything here is unclear, email hello@nofooly.com.
Using the board without an account
You can read the whole board without signing in. We do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking or analytics cookies.
If you type a postcode, it stays on your own device. Your browser sends it to postcodes.io, a free public service, to turn it into a place on the map. We do not store it.
If you make an account
- Your email address. We use it to sign you in and, if you pay, for your receipts. We do not send you marketing.
- Signing in with Google, Microsoft or Facebook. We receive your email address and the account number that company gives UK Watch, so it can recognise you next time. We do not receive your contacts, posts, friends or anything else.
- Payments. Stripe takes the payment on its own page. We never see your card. We keep a record that you subscribed, which plan, and when it renews.
- WhatsApp alerts, if you switch them on. Your mobile number, the date you agreed, and which lanes you follow. The messages are sent through Meta's WhatsApp Business service. Reply STOP at any time.
UK Watch for Chrome
Our Chrome extension reads the same public board as this site, every five minutes, and shows it on its toolbar button and in a small window. It does not track you, and it sends nothing about you to UK Watch or anyone else, apart from the two things below.
If you are signed in on ukwatcher.com, the extension asks the site who you are, using the sign-in cookie your browser already holds, so it can show your email and, for UK Watch Local, what is near you. If you give the extension a postcode, it is turned into a place on the map once, through postcodes.io, and only the area name, the first half of your postcode and the map point are kept.
Your lane choices, the alerts switch and that place are saved with your Chrome sign-in, so they follow you to another computer where you use the same Chrome account. Its copy of the board, and your email and plan for five minutes after it asks, stay on the computer itself. When a lane changes, the alert is drawn on that computer from its copy of the board; nothing is sent to make it. Remove the extension and everything it kept on that computer goes with it.
Cookies
Two, and only when you sign in. One called ukw keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. A second, short one lasts ten minutes while you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Facebook, to check the answer really came back to UK Watch.
Where it is kept, and for how long
With the companies that host UK Watch: Cloudflare, which runs the site, and Supabase, which holds the records. Sign-in links are deleted after two days. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Payment records are kept for six years, because UK tax law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your data
- If you pay for UK Watch Local, cancel first from the link in your Stripe receipt email, or ask us to do it for you.
- Email hello@nofooly.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my UK Watch account".
- We delete your account, your sign-ins and your alert settings within 30 days and email you to confirm.
- If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove UK Watch in Facebook under Settings, then Apps and websites.
Payment records we must keep for tax are kept apart and deleted when the six years are up.
